A chewy base, a soft center with a crunchy chocolate top, all elements that work so well together. Not only is this caramel slice delicious, but also made from beautiful, nutritious, plant-based ingredients.
Ingredients
Base

1/2 cup Changing Habits Cacao Powder

1/2 cup Changing Habits Dates
- 3 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 cup shredded coconut
Center
-
1/2 cup Changing Habits Dates soaked in boiling water for 30+ mins and drained
- 1/3 cup cashew butter
- 1/3 cup hulled tahini
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 2 tbsp coconut oil

pinch Changing Habits Seaweed Salt
- 1/3 cup water

1 tsp coconut oil

3/4 cup Changing Habits Cacao buttons

Directions
Base
- Combine all base ingredients in a food processor and blitz until smooth.
Transfer mixture into a loaf tin lined with baking paper and press down with the back of a tablespoon to create an even, flat base.
Place in the freezer and start the center.
Centre
- Place all center ingredients apart from the water in a food processor and blitz while gradually adding the water. Blend until completely smooth.
Spoon the mixture on to the base, evenly.
Place back in the freezer to set.
Top
- Heat a pot over a low heat and add the coconut oil.
Add the cacao buttons and stir continuously until completely melted. Add the salt and stir well.
Spoon the mixture onto the center layer evenly.
Return to the freezer for 1+ hours until its ready to slice. Cut into small pieces as the slice is quite rich.
Store in the freezer or fridge.
