This Turkish delight not only tastes like the real thing, but it contains lots of gut loving goodness from the gelatin and loads of nutrients from the pomegranate juice.
Ingredients
-
2 cups Filtered water
- 1/2 cup 100% Pomegranate juice
-
1/4 cup honey, maple syrup or Changing Habits Rapadura Sugar (please note if you use rapadura sugar the gummies wont turn out as pink they will be more brown)
-
3 tbsp Changing Habits Gelatin
- 1/2 cup extra filtered water to bloom the gelatin
- 2 tbsp Rosewater essence or you could use a couple of drops of rose essential oil if you have it or rose flavoured tea bags
Directions
- Prepare the dish or moulds you wish to make your gummies in. If you're using a dish, line it with baking paper.
Bloom the gelatin in the 1/2 cup water.
While the gelatin is blooming, in a medium saucepan, combine the pomegrante juice, 2 cups of water and honey ( or chosen sweetner) and simmer for 2-5 minutes on low heat until honey is dissolved
Add the gelatin mixture to the saucepan and stir until combined.
Remove the saucepan from heat and add the rosewater essence.
Pour mixture into moulds or dish and pop into the refrigerator until set (approx 2-3 hours)
Pop out of moulds or cut into squares
Optional-You can toss them through tapioca flour or organic icing sugar to give them the traditional turkish delight look or coat in chocolate for a real turkish delight treat. Yum!
Store in the fridge
